Getting around Costa Blanca

Coach Tours
Tourists who have arrived on package holidays will find that there holiday rep will usually arrange various half, full day and longer coach tours. These are also available from local travel agents

A regular narrow cauge train / tram service runs from Alicante to Denia stopping at most towns. FGV train/tram

The national rail network connects Alicante to the rest of Spain via inland lines to Murcia, Valenciaor Madrid National Trains

Hire a bike for a day or two. Check with your hotel or apartment reception. There are also Downhill bike tours organised. You are taken up into the hills and it's mostly downhill all the way back

Inland

Away from the coast you will find citrus and olive groves and very scenic hilltop and mountain side villages as you head into the rugged mountainous interior

Cala Finestrat

An expanding resort 2.5 km from Benidorm's Poniente Beach. More peaceful but within reach of Benidorm's Night life.

Calpe

Calpe is a lovely charming fishing port famous for it's rock headland, Penon de Ifach

Denia

Denia now a thriving tourist resort, but much quieter than Benidorm. Denia is also a centre for the raisin producing area around the town.

Desafio Medieval

Desafio Medieval, is located between Benidorm and Alea at Alfa del Pi, within the . Eat your medieval banquet whilst you watch the spectacular fighting and jousting.

Finestrat

Situated just inland from Benidorm. This village has a cove at sea level and the backdrop of the 1410m high mountain Campana.

Guadalest

Guadalest a beautiful fortified village with a Moorish castle visited by around 2 million visitors a year. Famous for The Asuncion's white bell tower perched on the top of a spectacular rock.

Benidorm is the main shopping resort and shopping trips to Valencia are done by many of the tour operators. Elche is a shoe manufacturing area and many trips to Elche include a factory and factory shop visit

Costa Blanca

Beautiful beaches, either quieter resorts or legendary vibrant nightlife resorts such as Benidorm, much of which is tailored for the British tourist.

Spanish tapas bars, restaurants offereing traditional seaside food - fish and chips are along side continental and oriental restaurants.

Hire a car, use local transport or book a trip with your holiday tour rep and visit some of the local towns.

Recommended are: Alicante, Guadalest, Calpe, Elche and Valencia.

Valencia

Spain's third largest city. Not actually in the Costa Blanca but to the North of Benidorm and within easy reach by tour coach car or bus. See it's cathedral , culture,  charm, footbal stadium shops, and Lladro's a porcelain manufacturer.

The Fallas festival is a must to see on on the 19th March. (St. Joseph´s day). With the burning of the carton effigies, firework displays,colourful processions, flower and brass bands.
