Search Costa Blanca & Benidorm GuideLemon Express (Limón Express) - Costa Blanca Tourist train
The Lemon Express is no longer running. See alternative below The “Lemon Express” (Limón Express) tourist train ran on the FGV line between Alicante and Denia. Reported to be a fabulous train ride experience, through beautiful rugged countryside. Unfortunately the train bogey wheels need maintenance and alteration to fit the new track which is being improved and electrified by FGV the Costa Blanca tram & railway company The old train has remained in a siding at Benidorm Station covered in graffiti. A 'come back' expected cost of this upgrade is just short of £1,000,000' and the idea has been shelved. We dont believe ths upgrade will ever take place,
Alternative to the Lemon ExpressYou can still take the same spectacular journey on the modern tram through the mountains., so jump on a tram for either Benidorm to either Gata de Gorges or go a little further to Denia for a day out. The trams offer an hourly service. The journey can be made from as far south as Alicante , but you will have to change trams at Benidorm. These trams are more frequent, every 30 minutes. You can always have a coffee, drink or snack at Benidorm Station if you have to wait 30 mins. Buy your ticket at the station booking office of machines on the platform.
